Gourmet Restaurant and Michigan Made Wine, Craft Beer, Liquor, and Cocktails.
People always ask me what made me open The Grape. I always laugh and say “ I don’t really have a good story I just love Wine” Then with further thought I realized everyone has a “Story” So here is the short version of mine.
My name is Angela and I am a wife, mom, (young) grandma and Register Nurse.. I am a wine enthusiast who started drinking Wine about 20 years ago . I love everything about it from the way it looks, taste, smells and feels. I love wine so much I turned one of the rooms in my house into an Wine Room. I would invite friends over to drink and talk wine. I loved the social aspect of sharing wine with friends. I had been considering the possibility of opening a small wine bar so In Jan of 2017 my husband and I attended the annual wine conference in Traverse City to just “check it out”. On the way home I told my husband “let’s do this I want to open a small wine tasting bar with wine just from Michigan!” On the same ride home I was doing some reading about the wine making process and came across the phrase “Agitating the Grapes.” I looked at my husband and said that’s it, I’m naming it The Agitated Grape !
